The YouTube Symphony Orchestra

23Mar11

I am proud to be part of a company that combines tradition with technology. That understands the need to keep history, the Arts, and Music alive with a strong supporting base in technology.

The YouTube symphony is an example of being modern and using technology to drive the power of an age old human interest – music. Musicians across the world were asked to put up audition pieces of them playing any musical instrument on YouTube, and they were selected to finally play at the Sydney Opera House. The whole auditioning and selection process happened entirely online, and the final result is beautiful, a concert that made me tearful with the poignant musical histories played so enthusiastically, and flawlessly.

Head over to www.youtube.com/symphony or watch the embedded video to view the entire 2:40 hours concert. And if you feel tearful, don’t hold back.
